Company Operations and Manufacturing Feasibility Study

Business: Amcanu Ltd.

Result Areas: Having undertaken a feasibility study with extensive company support into the key areas of the business and subsequently made a number of recommendations. The firm has reported improved profitability, reduced stock holding, improved output, increased customer base, implementation of manufacturing operations environment, company re-structure, layout revisions and capital investment.

The firm was established in 2008, its main product base was producing machined parts and sheet-metal products for indigenous local industry within West Wales and the M4 corridor.  The company has aspirations to expand its product base, develop into new market sectors and establish itself as a leader in bespoke metal solutions within the wider European market.


Working closely with the company employees to undertake a feasibility research project to enable the management team to facilitate a strategic review of the company structure, manufacturing facility and facilitate change in order to improve and sustain growth in profitability and to robustly plan the on-going development of the manufacturing environment. The support mechanisms for this change were also reviewed within the project to ensure a seamless process for sales ordering, order processing through to delivery of the product.


Results can be expressed using a number of key indicators:  Improved profitability, Improved output, reduced stock holding, reduced customer lead times for deliveries, creation of a manufacturing operations environment, improved process control and purchasing accountability, major factory improvements and capital investment and the creation of a goods inwards department.
